Their first project focuses on addressing the urgent need for more effective and personalized cancer treatments, particularly targeting metastasis, a leading cause of death for cancer patients. Nanoligent's self-assembling protein nanoparticle, a nanoconjugate that targets CXCR4 receptors over-expressed in metastatic cells, has shown promising preclinical results. The drug-loaded nanoconjugate selectively accumulates in primary tumors and metastatic foci with minimal presence in other organs, resulting in a significant decrease in the number of metastatic foci and low toxicity on normal cells.
Nanoligent recently secured a €1.80M Seed Round investment on 27 September 2022 from i&I Bio, positioning them to advance their preclinical development towards first-in-human trials. This investment underscores the recognition of Nanoligent's potential to revolutionize cancer treatment through their innovative drug design approach.
