Paper Mill Playhouse is a renowned not-for-profit theater in the United States, honored with the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award. Under the leadership of Mark S. Hoebee (Producing Artistic Director) and Mike Stotts (Managing Director), it has been a beloved institution since 1938. The theater is acclaimed for creating groundbreaking new musicals and reimagined classics, some of which have made it to Broadway and launched national tours, such as Disney’s Newsies, Les Misérables, and A Bronx Tale. It also houses an award-winning center for musical theater education and artist training, with outreach programs impacting tens of thousands of students annually.
Paper Mill Playhouse not only advances the art form but also educates students, develops future theater lovers, and promotes inclusion and access for all. The programs are supported by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. As a member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, the Council of Stock Theatres, and the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, the theater is committed to enriching lives and inspiring its audience.
