About Shaperon

Shaperon is a clinical stage biotech company with a focus on developing novel inflammasome inhibitors (small molecule). Their unique mechanism of action of GPCR-regulated P2X7 inhibition suppresses a broad spectrum of inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1β, IL-18, IL-6, and TNF-α, by controlling both priming and activation phase of inflammasome. In addition to their inflammasome R&D programs, Shaperon is also involved in anti-viral and anti-cancer nanobody therapeutics. With proprietary immunized nanobody libraries and high throughput screening combined with in vitro/in vivo systems, they are accelerating the development of multi-valent, multi-specific Nanobodies in multiple delivery forms in oncology and viral infection diseases. Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Korea South, Shaperon recently received a substantial KRW26.00B Series C investment at 20 October 2020 from a consortium of investors including Smilegate Investment, Posco Capital, JX Partners, Albatross Investment, Seoul Investment Partners, BNK Venture Capital, Nova M Healthcare, Moorim Capital, and Yuanta Investment.
