Shiok Meats, founded in 2018, is a pioneering company in the Food and Beverage industry, specializing in cultivated seafood and meat. Based in Singapore, it holds the distinction of being the first of its kind in South-East Asia. The name Shiok, a local slang term, signifies something fantastic and delicious, aligning with the company's mission to deliver mouthwatering, sustainable, and healthy seafood to consumers.

The company has achieved a breakthrough in cellular agriculture, successfully producing crustaceans like shrimp, crab, and lobster from healthy cells rather than animals, setting a global precedent as the first to do so. Shiok Meats also owns Gaia Foods, the region's first cultivated red meat company.

In its most recent funding round, Shiok Meats secured a $10.00M Seed Round investment on 21 July 2021 from a diverse group of investors, including Big Idea Ventures and Boom Capital Ventures, alongside others like Mindshift Capital and Vinh Hoan Corporation. This funding is expected to propel further innovations in sustainable meat solutions.
