SmartCatch is a French startup striving to make reliable liquid biopsies accessible to all, with a mission to advance precision medicine by tailoring medical treatment to the specific molecular profiles of individual patients. The company emerged from research initiated in 2012 by a team of multidisciplinary scientists from the Laboratory of Analysis and Architecture of Systems (LAAS, CNRS) and urologist surgeons of the IUCT-Oncopole and Toulouse hospital, resulting in patented technology in February 2015.
Established in 2016 by four of its inventors, SmartCatch specializes in innovative physical capture technology of circulating tumor cells, designing micro-devices resembling fishnets. These products hold potential for early cancer diagnosis, personalized therapeutic monitoring, and pharmaceutical screening.
The startup operates within the Health Care, Health and Wellness, and Medical Devices industries, with its headquarters based in France. The latest milestone for SmartCatch was a €3.20M Seed Round investment on 17 May 2021, secured from Kurma Partners, IRDI, and M Capital Partners.
