In energy-intensive industries like food, thermal energy consumption can represent up to 30% of their production costs, affecting their margins and competitiveness. Although Spain has the highest solar radiation in Europe, current solar technologies are only competitive on a large scale, making them unfeasible for industrial applications.
SOLATOM's Solution: SOLATOM offers industries a viable alternative to traditional solar projects by producing pre-assembled solar modules that, when combined, form the solar plant. These transportable modules can be entirely constructed in the factory, unlike traditional designs built on-site. This new approach reduces production costs by 63% through assembly line manufacturing, enabling industries to generate thermal energy 37% cheaper than their conventional fossil fuel-based systems.
This Energy and Renewable Energy startup was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Spain. In its latest funding round on 31 May 2024, SOLATOM secured Venture Round investment from ENION Partners, Enagás Emprende, White Summit Capital, GD Energy Services, and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI).
