TargTex

TargTex is a Portuguese biotech startup founded in 2019, utilizing a unique blend of academic research and medical expertise. The company's core technology, originating from Gonçalo Bernardes' research lab at Instituto de Medicina Molecular (iMM) of the University of Lisbon, is based on an artificial intelligence algorithm that deciphers biological target-molecule relationships. This led to the identification of an unexplored target for Glioblastoma (GBM), a challenging pathology. TargTex is developing a hydrogel-based solution for single-dose therapy as an adjunct to surgery for GBM, with the long-term goal of creating clinical candidates for various oncological indications.

Having received a Seed Round investment on 26 June 2019 from Portugal Ventures, TargTex aims to become a sustainable company, facilitating the development of other anticancer candidates.
