Founded in 1973, Turkish Aerospace, also known as TUSAŞ, initially emerged to reduce Turkey’s dependence on foreign defense industries. Over its history, it has transformed under various strategic collaborations, notably partnering with the United States for the F-16 aircraft production in 1984. By 2005, TUSAŞ had bought back foreign shares, integrating TAI to broaden its operational scope under the name Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI).
Renowned as one of the top global players in the aerospace sector, TUSAŞ operates six strategic business units: Structural, Aircraft, Helicopter, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Systems, Space Systems, and National Combat Aircraft (MMU). Each unit focuses on advanced R&D, production, system integration, and providing comprehensive logistics support for its products. With its extensive expertise and strategic organization, Turkish Aerospace is poised as a key technology and innovation hub within the aerospace and defense sector.
